Thrive Psychiatry & Wellness is a Plano-based clinic dedicated to helping patients reclaim their lives from depression and mood disorders — especially when medication alone hasn't been enough. Founded by Dr. Swati Ellendula MD, a board-certified psychiatrist, Thrive combines compassionate one-on-one care with the latest FDA-cleared TMS technology. Every treatment plan is personal, evidence-based, and built around you.

How It Works

Three steps to lasting change

Every TMS journey at Thrive begins with a thorough psychiatric evaluation. Dr. Ellendula tailors your treatment protocol to your unique brain chemistry — no two plans are identical.

1. Psychiatric Evaluation
Dr. Ellendula reviews your history, symptoms, and prior treatments to confirm TMS is the right fit and designs your personalized protocol.
2. Daily TMS Sessions
Comfortable in-office sessions 5 days a week. You sit in a chair while the TMS coil delivers gentle magnetic pulses — most patients read or listen to music.
3. Results & Ongoing Care
Most patients notice improvement between weeks 2–4. After your course, Dr. Ellendula monitors progress and adjusts your care plan as needed.
Who We Help

Conditions we treat with TMS & psychiatry

TMS is FDA-approved for depression and OCD, with strong evidence across anxiety, PTSD, and more. Our practice covers the full spectrum of adult mental health.

FDA-Cleared
Depression

TMS delivers targeted magnetic pulses to reactivate underactive brain circuits — restoring mood, energy, and focus without systemic side effects.

Anxiety Disorder

Generalized anxiety, social anxiety, and panic disorders respond well to TMS combined with evidence-based psychiatry for lasting relief.

FDA-Cleared
OCD

Deep TMS targets the anterior cingulate cortex, disrupting repetitive thought loops that drive compulsive behavior when medication hasn't been sufficient.

PTSD

TMS modulates fear circuits in the brain while our psychiatrists provide compassionate, trauma-informed care to help patients reclaim safety and calm.

ADHD

We offer comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and evidence-based treatment plans combining medication management with emerging neuromodulation approaches.

Bipolar Disorder

Dr. Ellendula provides expert mood stabilization strategies, careful medication management, and integrative therapies to help patients achieve stability.

"
I've been a patient of Dr. Ellendula for nearly eight years, and she is one of the best healthcare providers I've ever had. She is professional, caring, thoughtful, and an excellent listener. She has a calming presence that makes it easy to talk openly about anything, and I always leave feeling heard and supported.

Another bonus is her beautiful office at Thrive, which is welcoming, organized, and peaceful. Leah at the front desk is always kind and cheerful. Dr. Ellendula and her team have created an environment that makes appointments feel comfortable rather than stressful.

FAQ

Common
questions

Still have questions? Our care team is happy to help.

TMS is generally very well-tolerated. Most patients feel a gentle tapping sensation on their scalp during the session. Some mild scalp discomfort or headache is possible in the first few sessions, but this typically fades quickly. There's no sedation required and you can drive yourself to and from every appointment.
Most major insurance plans — including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, United Behavioral Health, Optum, Baylor Scott & White, and UMR — cover TMS therapy for major depressive disorder when certain criteria are met, such as having tried antidepressants without adequate relief. We are not able to accept Medicare at this time. Our team will verify your specific benefits before you begin, at no cost to you.
Many patients begin noticing improvements in mood, sleep, and energy between weeks 2 and 4. Full results are typically seen by the end of the 6–8 week treatment course. Dr. Ellendula monitors your progress throughout and can adjust the protocol to maximize your outcomes.
In most cases, yes. TMS can be used alongside antidepressants and other psychiatric medications. Dr. Ellendula will review your full medication regimen during your evaluation and may recommend adjustments to optimize your TMS response. Never stop any medication without guidance from your prescriber.
TMS is not recommended for individuals with certain metallic implants in or near the head (such as cochlear implants or deep brain stimulators), or those with a personal history of unprovoked seizures. Dr. Ellendula conducts a thorough screening to confirm TMS is safe and appropriate for you before beginning.
After completing TMS, Dr. Ellendula designs a personalized maintenance plan to protect your progress. This may include follow-up psychiatric appointments, medication management, and the option for maintenance TMS sessions. Many patients maintain their improvement for 12 months or more.
